WatSan Sector organised a one-day
orientation workshop on the “Promotion of
Rainwater Harvesting” at Azeem Shahzad Hall,
COMSATS, on May 18 2010.
DG WatSan chaired the workshop, which was
attended by representatives of LGRDD KPK,
NGOs, PHED KPK, PERRA, Media and students of
Environmental Sciences Department.
The workshop, a launching pad for the
Promotion of Rainwater Harvesting in the
earthquake affected areas of KPK, had the
following purposes:
• To guide and give the mass awareness about
the benefits of Rainwater Harvesting.
• To formulate recommendations for a
sustainable and comprehensive Rainwater
Harvesting system in KPK earthquake
affected area.
• To discuss the main issues of water
scarcity in affected areas and how RWH can
be useful
The workshop provided an opportunity to the
experts to share their experiences and views
with the audience. Mr. Sardar
