In order to ensure superior living
standards for the people in earthquake
affected areas by reducing risks to
public health through provision of
equitable, sustainable and reliable
supply of safer water, appropriate
sanitation services and qualified
hygienic standards, ERRA with the help
of UNICEF and Royal Netherlands
Embassy (RNE) launched “Water Quality
Improvement and Promotion of Hygiene
Project” in earthquake affected
districts. ERRA’s Deputy Chairman Lt

schemes as per it’s Water and
Sanitation Strategy with the support
of development partners and other
organizations. The Project will ensure
the hygienic quality of water through
water testing of 3500 water supply
schemes by establishing water quality
mini-labs, providing equipment and
capacity building of staff while
implementing community based water
quality monitoring and improvement
plans. In order to create awareness
amongst the local public, District
based workshops will be held and Lady
Health Workers will be trained to
address the issues of water quality,
Hygiene and Sustainability. The
Project will be launched in Earthquake
affected areas of Abbottabad,
