Islamabad 24th Oct, 09: Twenty Six Government
officers on NEPA Course visited ERRA Headquarters
today. They were given a detailed briefing by
ERRA’s DG Planning apprising the grade 20 officers
about the reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts
being carried out in Earthquake affected areas.
The officers were told that ERRA is reconstructing
over 13,000 projects in most difficult terrain with
the commitment to build back better. Rural Housing
Programme of ERRA is providing seismically safe
houses to nearly 500, 000 people, whereas an amount
of Rs 70 Billion has been disbursed to people of
affected areas is now being considered as a model
for the rest of the world.
The audience highly appreciated work done by ERRA
and participated in a lively question and answers
session where ERRA’s Chief of Staff Brig Masuood
responded to the queries.
The officers while commending ERRA’s efforts said
that the work done by ERRA should be acknowledged
and highlighted at the international level.
