On
September 14, 2009; A high level
meeting was held at Kashmir House,
Islamabad to review the progress of
reconstruction
projects in quake affected districts
of AJ&K. Prime Minister AJ&K; Sardar
Muhammad Yaqoob, chaired the meeting.
Among
others the Chairman ERRA, Altaf
Muhammad Saleem, the Deputy Chairman
ERRA, Lt Gen Sajjad Akram, State
Ministers, Additional
Chief Secretary AJ&K, DG SERRA and
other high ranking officials of ERRA
attended the meeting. The meeting
reviewed the pace
of reconstruction works and the
issues, which adversely affected the
progress of these projects in the
districts of
Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Rawlakot.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime
Minister AJ&K appreciated ERRA's
efforts and said that
reconstruction work witnessed visible
progress during the last one year. He
desired that a close coordination
between
Government of AJ&K, ERRA and SERRA
must be ensured to further enhance the
speed of reconstruction works. The
Chairman ERRA
lauded the support being extended by
the Governments of Pakistan and AJ&K
to ERRA to construct state-of-the-art
facilities in
place of pubic buildings, which were
destroyed due to the 2005 earthquake.
He expressed the resolve and
commitment of ERRA to
leave no stone unturned to replace the
destroyed infrastructure with much
better facilities to improve the
quality of life in
the quake affected areas.
