a detailed briefing by Project
Director Rawalakot and thereafter a
briefing on latest update by program
manager DRU Poonch the Chairman ERRA,
Altaf Mohammad Saleem said that
completion of project undertaken by
ERRA is on priority and ERRA is
keeping a vigilant eye on pace of
reconstruction. He also said that
successful handling of the massive
challenge posed by earthquake 2005
was made possible due to unflinching
commitment of government of
Pakistan, respective governments and
resolve of the people. At the moment
ERRA has completed 2675 projects in
AJK with 422 educational buildings
fully completed and 1331 are under
construction. ERRA has completed 62
health facilities while 67 are under
construction, said Altaf. To ensure
timely completion of the tasks and
meeting deadlines, Chairman and
Deputy Chairman are regularly
visiting the area and are expected
to visit Bagh soon after Rawalakot.
The Deputy Chairman ERRA Lt Gen
Haroon Aslam who was accompanying
the Chairman said that completion of
health and education institutions
are on high priority for ERRA as
good education and proper health
facilities are vital for progress of
the nation. Future of the nation
lies in well educated and healthy
youth, expressed Gen Haroon, and
said that ERRA with its mandate to
serve people of affected areas is
going to ensure completion of health
and educational buildings. Gen
Haroon recently took charge as
Deputy Chairman ERRA and in recent
past his meetings with the CM KPK
brought good results in shape of
resumption of work on new Balakot
City.
