Chairman ERRA’s Visit to Earthquake Affected Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Chairman ERRA Altaf Muhammad Saleem visited the earthquake affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to oversee progress of reconstruction and rehabilitation work on three of the projects undertaken by ERRA; Government Girls Middle School Darwaza (Ayubia), Government Higher Secondary School, Nathiagali and Government High School, Nagribala. Director General PERRA and senior officials of ERRA and NESPAK gave detailed briefings to Chairman ERRA about the ongoing reconstruction projects.
Chairman ERRA first visited the reconstructed buildings of Government Girls Middle School Darwaza (Ayubia) and Government Higher Secondary School, Nathiagali. Later, Chairman ERRA also visited Government High School Nagribala which has been reconstructed with a total cost of Rs 35-50 million. Prominent locals, together with Member National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi, were also present on the occasion. Lauding ERRA’s role in earthquake affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, MNA Murtaza Javed Abbasi said that the reconstruction had been carried out with the basic motto of Build Back Better, resulting in enhanced economic conditions and quality of life in the area.
Chairman ERRA was also Chief Guest at the three-day Disaster Management Conference organized by University of Peshawer in its Bara Gali Campus. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the importance of disaster risk reduction in mitigating the effects of disasters. Altaf Muhammad Saleem praised University of Peshawer for organizing the conference and said it would lead to better awareness amongst masses regarding effective disaster management. Later, University of Peshawer presented Chairman ERRA with an honorary shield and he distributed certificates and shields among the participants of the conference.
