Handing and Taking Over Ceremony of Basic Health Unit Bagh Takes Place at ERRA HQs

 

Islamabad: 28th May, 2010: Handing and taking over ceremony of Basic Health Unit, Bagh took place at ERRA Headquarters today. The honorable Ambassador of Italy, H.E. Vincenzo Prati, formally handed over the facility to ERRA which is built by ISCOS. Guests from Italian Cooperation, SERRA, DRU (Bagh) and Health Department (EDO Bagh) AJ&K were also present at the occasion.
The facility worth Rs 40 million consists of service block and a residential block, including pharmacy room, labour room, and a female ward. The well-equipped centre is going to effectively provide modern health facility to people of Bagh, specifically women.
Italy has been an active partner of ERRA during relief and reconstruction and at the moment, 17 projects including reconstruction of health, education and livelihoods worth $ 16.28 million are being reconstructed in collaboration with Government of Italy. Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Chairman ERRA, Lt Gen Muhammad Haroon Aslam, thanked Government of Italy for standing by Pakistan in times of need and said ERRA has been an example for the world and our performance during relief and rescue has been rated as best in the world. He also said that international partners like World Bank have rated ERRA’s performance as ‘highly satisfactory’ which speaks of our commitment and transparency.
Speaking at the occasion, the Ambassador of Italy, H.E. Vincenzo Prati said that partnership with ERRA was an old one for which we have been proud and thanked ERRA for providing good and friendly atmosphere and guidance due to which projects funded by Italy have been successfully implemented. He said ERRA did a marvellous job to rebuild societies and Italy will be happy for a broader involvement in future to contribute towards rebuilding of the affected areas.
