Officially taking charge as the new Deputy Chairman ERRA today, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Haroon Aslam expressed his determination to accomplish the task assigned to him and commitment to uplift the lives of people of affected areas. He termed the task of heading ERRA as the most noble and challenging as the people who suffered from the disaster looked at ERRA to be the catalyst of change steering disaster hit areas into new vistas of opportunity. The new Deputy Chairman during his first meeting with ERRA officials emphasized the need for active liaison with stakeholders and international partners. He emphasized on a more proactive approach aimed at evolving foolproof system to meet deadlines, and measuring up to the expectations of the public. Terming media as a partner in reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts, he said media being the critical eye expressing public opinion, needs to be on board with what ERRA is doing. He is also likely to visit AJ&K and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in near future.
