On September 18 2010, an orientation meeting on ERRA’s Rainwater Harvesting Project was held at PTDC Hotel with the public and community representatives of Union Council Balakot.

The meeting was arranged by Tehsil Municipal Officer, Balakot in collaboration with Project Implementation Unit (PIU) PERRA. The objective of this meeting was to disseminate basic information about Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) and sensitize the inhabitants of Union Council Balakot to get feedback from the community for any course correction before launching the Promotion of RWH Project in the near future. DG WatSan Syed Zaheer Hussain Gardezi, explained the basic concept, need and use of Rain Water Harvesting against a backdrop of water scarcity issues in the earthquake affected areas. Over 40 participants including government officials, ex nazims and public representatives attended the session. All the participants appreciated ERRA’s innovative approach to resolve water scarcity issues.
