School Debate on Rainwater Harvesting in Tameer-e-Millat Public School at Union Council Shamdara, Mansehra on 21st April 2011
   

Under the ERRA sponsored Promotion of Rainwater Harvesting Project, the Service Provider SUKHI along with KPK Project Implementation Unit had conducted a school debate on the topic of “Rainwater Harvesting” at Tameer-e-Millat Public School in Union Council Shamdara. The participants included a large number of students, Social Workers of Shamdara, ex-Nazim, Staff of Project Implementation Unit PERRA and Service Provider (SUKHI) and Chief Guest Mr. Mohammad Javed Project Coordinator (PRWH)-ERRA.
The program started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Qari Obaid. After that Ms Kaneez Sughra Provincial Coordinator PRWH-Project KPK briefed on the silent features of Rainwater Harvesting project and sensitized the importance of rainwater harvesting among the masses of Shamdara.
The debate competition comprised of speeches made by five students namely Hamza Arif on topic “Barish ka Paani Zindagi ki Nishani”, Gul Nawaz on “importance of water”, Sohail Ahmad on “Barish Anmol Lekin Baymol”, Mohammad Hussain and Saif ur Rehman.
At the end, the Chief Guest Mr. Mohammad Javed Project Coordinator addressed the community about the importance of rainwater harvesting, and advised the young students, “Let us sensitize the importance of rainwater among the all, so that the young generation may benefit abundantly from such a useful gift from the GOD”.
Mr. Mohammad Javed also appreciated School Faculty and organizers for organizing such a successful debate competition as well as the Students for taking great interest in rainwater harvesting. In the end, the students participating in debate were awarded the Prizes and Cups.
