On October 1 2010, an orientation meeting on ERRA’s Rainwater Harvesting Project was held at Baba Hyder Zaman’s Hujra with the public and community representatives of Union Council Dewal Munal.

The meeting was arranged by the local community in collaboration with the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of ERRA’s PRWH-Project. The objective of this meeting was to disseminate basic information about Rain Water Harvesting (RWH) and sensitize the inhabitants of Union Council Dewal Munal to get feedback from the community for any course correction before launching the Promotion of RWH Project in the near future. In the opening session a presentation was delivered by Provincial Coordinator Ms Kaneez Sughra, who elaborated on the basic concept, need and use of Rain Water Harvesting and discussed the main issues of water scarcity in the earthquake affected areas.

Over 62 participants including community elders, government officials, ex nazims and public representatives attended the session. All the participants appreciated ERRA’s innovative approach to resolve water scarcity issues.
