To promote Rainwater Harvesting a successful awareness campaign was held at Government Degree College, Union Council Nathia Gali, Abbottabad on September 30 2010. Under ERRA’s Promotion of Rain Water Harvesting (PRWH) Project, the main objective of these campaigns is to educate the local community of the selected Union Council about Rain Water Harvesting and its effectiveness in addressing water scarcity issues in the earthquake affected areas.

The campaign was organized in coordination with local community representatives; ex Chairman Nathia Gali Union Council, Mr Sardar Jeenda Khan; ex-Nazim Mr Khalil-ur-Rehman; and the concerned Project Implementation Unit i.e. PIU PRWH–Project.

Following the opening session, DG WatSan Syed Zaheer Hussain Gardezi briefed participants about ERRA’s RWH-Project; its objectives and implementation mechanism. Representatives of Union Council Nathia Gali ensured their cooperation appreciated ERRA’s innovative approach to resolve water scarcity issues
